Applicability
The CCPA/CPRA applies to "businesses" meeting specified thresholds in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(d) — roughly, for-profit entities with USD 25M annual revenue, buying/selling personal information of 100,000+ consumers, or deriving 50%+ of revenue from selling personal information. Alcometer.org is operated by a natural person on a non-commercial basis and meets none of these thresholds. This notice is provided as a matter of transparency.
Categories of Personal Information
Alcometer.org does NOT collect or sell personal information as defined in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(v). Specifically: no identifiers (name, email, account IDs) are solicited; no commercial information is processed; no biometric information is collected; no geolocation data is retained server- side; no inferences are drawn from user behavior. Values entered into the calculator (body weight, drinks consumed) are processed client-side and may be saved in your browser's localStorage — on your device only.
California Consumer Rights
Even though Alcometer.org does not qualify as a CCPA "business", California residents may exercise the following rights by contacting the email above: (1) right to know what personal information (if any) is collected; (2) right to delete — limited because nothing is stored server-side; (3) right to correct inaccurate information; (4) right to opt out of sale or sharing — not applicable because no sale or sharing occurs; (5) right to limit use of sensitive personal information — not applicable. Requests will be answered within 45 days.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Alcometer.org does NOT sell or share personal information of California residents, minors under 16, or any other person. No "Do Not Sell" toggle is therefore required under § 1798.135.
