About Alcometer.org
Alcometer.org is an independent, non-commercial educational project dedicated to alcohol harm reduction. It is not a company, not a business, and not an affiliate of any alcohol producer, government agency, or lobby group.
Who runs this site
Alcometer.org is operated by Piotr Zieminski as a natural person. There is no company behind it, no board, no investors, and no employees. Postal address and email are published on the country-specific legal pages where the law requires disclosure (for example, the German Impressum under § 18 MStV, the French Mentions légales under the LCEN, or the Polish Informacja prawna under the Ustawa o świadczeniu usług drogą elektroniczną).
Because the operator is a natural person acting in a non-commercial capacity, there is no VAT identification number (NIP), no commercial registry entry (CEIDG, KRS, Handelsregister, SIRET), and no professional association membership associated with the site.
Our mission
Alcometer.org exists for one reason: to help people make informed, safer decisions about alcohol. Blood-alcohol content (BAC) is poorly understood even by many regular drinkers. When someone estimates alcohol-related impairment wrongly and drives, the consequences can be catastrophic.
By providing jurisdiction-aware legal thresholds, transparent pharmacokinetic modelling (Widmark formula with configurable elimination rate), and explanations of the science behind the numbers, we aim to shift a small but real slice of drinking decisions toward the safer side.
Why non-commercial matters
The non-commercial status is not a style choice — it is structural. There is no paid advertising, no sponsored content, no affiliate links, and no selling or sharing of user data. There are no premium tiers, upsells, or newsletter funnels. The calculator runs entirely in the user's browser; nothing about an individual's weight, drinks, or session is transmitted to the operator.
This architecture makes a clear promise possible: you are not the product, and the numbers you see are not nudged by any commercial interest.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Alcometer.org receives no funding, grants, or sponsorship from the alcohol industry, road-safety lobbies, government agencies, or academic institutions. The operator declares no conflicts of interest with respect to the site's subject matter.
Scientific sources, legal references, and methodology are cited transparently on the Methodology page so that readers can verify every claim against primary sources (ETSC Drink Driving Monitor, WHO Global Status Report on Alcohol and Health, national gazettes, and peer-reviewed pharmacokinetics literature).
