Applicability

Law 25 applies to "enterprises" within the meaning of art. 1525 of the Civil Code of Québec. Alcometer.org is operated by a natural person on a strictly non-commercial basis and does not constitute an enterprise. This privacy notice is nevertheless provided so that Québec residents can easily understand how their information is (not) processed.

What Personal Information Is Collected

Alcometer.org does not collect personal information on its servers. Data you enter into the calculator (body weight, drinks consumed, language preference) is processed inside your browser and may be stored in your device's localStorage — it never leaves your device. No name, email, IP, or device identifier is recorded or transmitted to the operator.

Purposes and Legal Basis

The sole purpose of any client-side storage is to restore the user's last session (weight preference, language choice) so the calculator does not need to be re-configured on each visit. No secondary use, no profiling, and no automated decision-making within the meaning of art. 12.1 P-39.1 takes place.

Rights under Law 25

Québec residents may exercise the following rights by contacting the privacy email above: (1) right of access; (2) right of rectification; (3) right to be forgotten (art. 28.1 P-39.1) — note that because nothing is stored server-side, this is achieved by clearing your browser's localStorage on the device; (4) right to data portability; (5) right to withdraw consent. The operator will reply within 30 days.

Data Transfers and Hosting

The site is served from the operator's global hosting provider (Vercel), which may route requests through servers located outside Québec. As no personal information is collected by Alcometer.org, no "privacy impact assessment" within the meaning of art. 3.3 P-39.1 is required for the operator's processing.
